This Past Year at a Glance: 2014
2014 was definitely a year to remember for LD Photography. So many great sessions and great people! LD Photography grew a lot as a company and we had the most sessions to date in 2014. It was a great year with plenty of challenges but even greater rewards and I cannot wait to see what this new year has is store. Here is an overview of all the amazing sessions LD Photography was privileged to be a part of this past year. Thank you to all my clients, new and old, who made this year so special! LD Photography couldn’t have done it without you!
So here we go!
In the beginning of the year this awesome couple, Maddie and Bobby, got engaged. LD Photography took their engagement photos at the Flower Farm Inn located in Loomis, CA. It was a beautiful, warm day with all the flowers blooming and their country style session could not have gone better. These two are so adorable together and I’m excited to say that LD Photography will be capturing their wedding in April 2015!
Another engagement session happened as well. LD Photography went into the city of San Francisco to capture Nick and Brittany’s engagement session. The day was beautifully crisp with not a cloud in the sky. We had uninterrupted views of the Golden Gate Bridge which as any local knows, sometimes is shrouded in fog, so we were lucky! After the Golden Gate Bridge we hopped on over to the Giant’s Stadium (even though Brittany is a Yankee’s Fan) and took some photos of them in their respective team jerseys. Nick and Brittany were so happy in their pictures and Brittany seriously couldn’t stop smiling at Nick.
These gorgeous photos below came from a stylized shoot with some photographers from one of the MeetUp groups that I am apart of. They hold sessions with hired models that are usually stylized and have some sort of theme. The point of them is to get everyone out shooting and networking and building your portfolio. This session I attended happened to be horse themed! I had such a great time building my portfolio with these great shots and talking to other people who have the same passion as I do. In 2015, I will definitely be attending more of these.
This girl is so beautiful! Put her in front of a camera and I barely had to direct her or so anything but take amazing photos. Seriously, my session with the lovely Ashlynn has so many great photos that it’s hard to pick a few to show off. We went all over Old Town Auburn, CA and then up into the hills near Cool to take some photos near the American River. There is nothing a photographer loves more than a great model, great light and a great backdrop. This shoot was all of those things! This year in 2015, we have plans to do another shoot but this time in her hometown of Redding, CA!
This wedding happened to be LD Photography’s first wedding (everyone has to have a first!) and boy did it surpass my expectations. The venue was the Rocklin Golf Club in Rocklin, CA. Erika and James had a beautiful day filled with lots of happy tears and precious moments. They chose to do a First Look, where they both had a private moment to see each other before the ceremony. It was a lovely, moving moment for them both and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. The wedding overall was wonderful and Erika was a beautiful bride!
Zuag wanted some family photos at a park near where they live in Citrus Heights. Already a lovely couple, they have two absolutely adorable children as well! These two were a little unsure at first but the minute they could run and play, the smiles came out full force.
Where do I even start with these two girls? Marisa and Lacie are graduating this year from Sacramento State University and being good friends, we decided to do their session at the same time! We had a blast! I couldn’t have asked for more gorgeous seniors and we had so much fun, especially when it came to the glitter! I wish these girls nothing but success in their futures and I hope that LD Photography is there to capture it all!
I ended last year with a family session, it only seems fitting to end 2014 with one as well! This one was both a family session and a maternity session as Heather and Bryan were expecting at the time (they have since welcomed their new baby girl into the world, Congrats to them!). Their daughter Emma is absolutely adorable. We had the session near Whitney Oaks Park so there was both a park and some oak trees spread out behind it. Emma was fascinated by everything and I loved seeing her explore nature. She is so excited to be a big sister and the love this little family has for each other is definitely apparent!
Up in the foothills around Auburn, CA the mandarin growers hold Orchard Days in December where they showcase their farms and sell their mandarins. I went around this year and captured some of the farms. It was so much fun to see all of the farmers and the beautiful farms that they have. The mandarins are to die for, seriously so good, and the atmosphere of the farms is laid back and fun. Definitely something that is becoming a tradition for us!
Well, that’s all for 2014. 2015 opened up with a beautiful engagement session that I will showcase soon. Thank you again to all my clients and I look forward to seeing what this new year has in store!
xoxo
